Research Council
The Research Council (RC) at LGU is a pivotal advisory body responsible for shaping the university's research policies and procedures. It serves as the leadership hub for all research activities at LGU, fostering a vibrant research culture among faculty members and students. The RC promotes collaboration, mentoring, and support for generating and disseminating knowledge through high-quality research.
Mission and Role
The mission of the RC is to promote and support high-standard research across all disciplines at LGU. It encourages a broad spectrum of research activities, including basic, applied, innovative, and interdisciplinary research, as well as the production of scholarly and creative works.
In alignment with LGU's mission, the RC focuses on addressing the pressing challenges faced by the region, including healthcare issues, while upholding the principles of academic freedom and intellectual integrity. The RC plays a vital role in advocating for ethical research practices and ensuring adherence to high standards of research conduct.
Composition
The RC is composed of full-time faculty members at the associate or full professor rank, with proven records of scholarly and research achievements. The University President serves as an ex-officio member, and the RC may invite additional staff or faculty when necessary to support its objectives.

- Graduate Program Development: Collaborating with faculty to initiate new graduate programs or modify existing ones, ensuring high standards and relevance for both undergraduate and graduate study.
- Faculty Development: Promoting faculty development through research-related activities and encouraging active participation in scholarly endeavors.
- Research Excellence: Promoting research excellence through funding programs while ensuring the effective allocation of research resources.

- Develop strategies to enhance the research culture and boost productivity among faculty and students.
- Oversee all research activities across the university.
- Assist faculty members and students in the publication of their research.
- Seek funding for research initiatives and secure cooperation agreements with research bodies and universities.
- Supervise and ensure adherence to guidelines for student research projects, senior studies and thesis.
- Review and recommend changes to the university's research guidelines for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Evaluate students' research proposals, thesis and senior projects and participate as jury members during student defenses.
- Organize conferences, scientific events, and research discussions for the higher education community.
- Prepare and publish the university's annual research report to highlight LGU's research achievements.
