The Nutrition Department at LGU welcomed Dr. Elie Bou Yazbeck, Assistant to the Director General for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Trade, as a guest speaker for a specialized session titled “Consumer Rights in Lebanon: From Legal Protection to Market Confidence".

Dr. Bou Yazbeck provided students with a comprehensive overview of Lebanon’s consumer protection framework, highlighting the legal safeguards that protect consumers, the regulatory authorities responsible for enforcement, and the mechanisms ensuring product safety, fair trade, and transparency in the marketplace.

The session also addressed ongoing challenges and opportunities to strengthen consumer awareness and trust, a topic of particular relevance to future nutrition professionals concerned with food safety, labeling, and public health standards.
