Classroom Scheduling and Class Size

It is the responsibility of the Registrar’s Office to assign classrooms to courses. For classroom changes, instructors must consult the Registrar’s Office.

LGU has defined the following types of courses and determined the class size accordingly:

Lab courses 20 students
Internship courses 15 students
Lecture courses 35 students
Seminar courses 25 students
Physical Education courses 16 students
Studio courses 15 students
Training courses 20 students

Grades Release

Grades for Midterm and Final exams are posted on the students’ portals within ten days after the last exam has been held.

 

Tutorial Courses

A course given on tutorial basis is a course of several sessions given by an instructor to an individual or to a small number of students. The student(s) is (are) asked to make individual and particular effort to pass courses on tutorial basis. At least a final exam is required by the student. Other requirements may be exams, projects, term papers, presentations, and others. Students may petition the Academic Faculty Council for a tutorial course, which normally takes place during their last two terms before graduation provided the following conditions are met:

The student has a cumulative GPA of 2.30 and above.
The student has a major GPA of 2.50 and/or above.
The number of remaining credits required for graduation is less than 60.
The course required for a tutorial is listed among the major courses.
The course is not an applied course.
The course is not offered on a term basis.
The course is not repeated.
The student has not exceeded 2 courses on tutorial basis during his/her undergraduate education.
The number of encounters for a course on tutorial basis shall be two-thirds of the original total contact hours. Students have to make extra effort to complete the required material. At least three means for the final grade should be used.

 

Transcripts & Attestations

Students applying for a transcript of records or an attestation should make sure that all the documents requested by the Administration upon registration have been supplied. Students should also have no outstanding payments with respect to their fees. They should fill in a request form at the Info Desk any week day before 4:00 pm. Attestations are issued after FIVE working days and transcripts after TEN working days. No attestations or transcripts are issued during registration and exams period.

 

Change of Address or Phone Number

If students change their address or phone number, they should instantly inform the Info Desk of these changes and fill in the related form.

 

Parking & Dorms

To reserve a parking space in the University underground, students should pay a fee for the full semester at the Business Office within the deadline posted on LGU calendar. To reserve a room in the dorm for the fall semester, students should pay the full fees before October 1st of the academic year. To reserve a room in the dorm for the spring semester, students should pay the full fees before February 1st. Upon payment, students sign an agreement outlining dorm regulations and general terms.

 

Financial Aid

To request financial aid, students have to submit a Financial Aid Application at the Admissions Office. Their application will be processed to the Financial Aid Council and decision will be conveyed within one week.

 

Payment Plan & Fees

Students should settle their down payment on Registration day. They should afterwards settle their fees in one or two payments or by installments according to the payment plan they have confirmed with the Registrar’s Office.
